Who We Are

Sudden Realizations is a commercial MIDI recording studio. I am owner and sole proprietor, and I compose and produce music for individual and commercial clients. Sudden Realizations also produces album recordings under the Required Listening label.

Sudden Realizations Studio

I'm in Hudson, Ohio, a delightful hamlet nestled between the hulking megalopola of Cleveland and Akron. I have clients throughout the Midwest and Northeast.

I use only the freshest free-range organically-grown equipment in the studio. I have a booth for recording live persons, so I do virtually everything here.

There's a page for rate card and client list information, and It's called Details.

If you'd like to hear some more of my work, check out the sound clips. You can also download some neat MIDI files.

Required Listening Records

Why did I call it Required Listening RECORDS, anyway? I don't know about you, but apart from archiving some weird old stuff, the last time I held vinyl was dancing with Janet Saville at my high school reunion disco party (it's a JOKE, Janet...).

Anyway, Required Listening is a wonderful little label unrestrained by the fetters of corporate responsibility--you know, sales, profit, that sort of thing. I'm really proud of the music on this label, and I think you'll really like it. You can listen to a sample, visit the label's home page or you can e-mail me for a sampler cassette.

Rock Wehrmann

I feel a little awkward talking about myself, so I've asked former Senator and Vice-Presidential candidate Estes Kefauver to step in here for me:

"Rock Wehrmann is a man of unusual breadth of background in the music business. He put himself through college (Kent State University - pipe organ) by playing studio session work in Cleveland on one of the world's first Minimoog synthesizers. Our Founder

"Immediately out of school, he got a job with Moog Music, first as Artist-in-Residence, and eventually as Manager of Marketing & Advertising. Subsequent work as an independent consultant, Marketing Manager at Audio-Technica U.S., Inc., and as a full-time performing and recording musician have given him a unique insight into both the creative and corporate sides of the music industry. You should listen to the music sound clips he has so thoughtfully provided.

"As a programmer and performer, he has worked with such prominent artists as Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, and Stevie Wonder, and is in great demand as a soloist, accompanist and composer throughout the Midwest. His client list is remarkably impressive, and as a politician, I know the importance of good business contacts. I'd hire him in a minute; but, then, I've been dead for over thirty years."

What the Heck Is That, Anyway?

more inscrutability

I have it on very good authority that these are the Japanese characters for the concept of "music synthesis". Now, I speak enough Japanese to get by, but as for reading--well, I apologize in advance if I have just instructed you to suture the broccoli in your gazelle's undergarments.
